MOBILITY 1: Fieldtrips on days 3 and 6

On these two days, we got to exprience the cultural heritage that Rhoddes has by the hand of Eric "X", a historian who not only filled us in with all the history of the old town and the island, but also helped us to look into history with a critical eye. He helped us get much closer to the complicated Greek heritage, where invadors have played a major role in history and gave us a hint that our own cultural heritage is to be used in the  classroom. Some of the sights we discovered are the following: Bizentine Church (Rhodes) Mosque The walls of the knights Italian pebbled floors Jewish front yard

MOBILITY 1: The Use of ICT and the Cultural Heritage Day 2

Giorgos Fessakis mail: gfessakis@rhodes.aegean.gr SECTION 1 Interactive stories and augmented realities combined is going to be the goal of the day. STEP 1: INKLEWRITER Excellent free user tool for direct story writer. They are BRANCHING STORIES. www.inklestudios.com It's like a YOUTUBE source of stories where pepole cooperate in building a community. Compared to a traditional story writing , this app allows the future reader to make choices within the storyline. Videos, animations, sounds, and other media can be added to the stories. The writer has big role in designing all the story branches before writing. Gamebook is the genre where this all comes from. Edward Packard is the first example of Ergodic* literature. *In this type of lit, you need to make the right choices before moving on. See SECONDLIFE   for collaborative emerging plots STEP 2: TWINE (an open source tool for telling interactive non-linear stories) https://twinery.org/ In the edit mod

MOBILITY 1: The use of ICT and the Cultural Heritage Day 1

DIGITAL LEARNING USING THE PARADIGM OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE ENVIRONMENT OF RHODES by Imma Boluña Day 1 meant a reflection on what creativity in the classroom means. The session has been led by G. Fessakis    from the Learning Technology and Educational Engineering Laboratory, School of Humanities, University of the Aegean,  Rhodes, Greece. I like his concept of creativity as based on social constructivism. CREATIVITY is sth understood as a social concept because it implies the making of a product which is original and valued in the context of a community, because it implies solving a problem. Teachers look for a creative approach through: Creativity techniques : BRAINSTORMING, STORYBOARDING, LOTUS BLOSSOM, CHECKLISTS, MORPHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS, MAPPING PROCESSES, IDEA DIARY, EXPERT EXCITATION, PICTURE TICKLER Creativity can be observed in  a classroom in aspects such as.... Problem posing open authentic problems techniques scenarios and modes communities (become member of E-T
